The Madison-Plains FFA Chapter had multiple individuals attend FFA Camp Muskingum from Oct. 1-3 for the annual FFA Greenhand Camp. These FFA members are first year members and got a great introduction to the Ohio FFA Program.

While attending Greenhand Camp the freshmen attendees took part on multiple exciting activities. These activities included dancing, water activities, rifle range, and multiple leadership activities with state officers. Greenhands got to learn how to form and build personal goals, learned about FFA history in the FFA quiz bowl and learned how to set a table in the dining hall. With the freshman’s involvement they have grown into young leaders in their chapter and community.

The Madison-Plains FFA Chapter is very excited for the upcoming FFA generation and their excitement to be involved in FFA.

On Wednesday, Sept. 27 the Madison-Plains FFA senior officers attended the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference at the State House. During this conference FFA members met the 2017-2018 Ohio State FFA officers and the county agricultural representatives.

The Madison-Plains FFA senior officers also competed in multiple activities where they played the role of legislators and reviewed appeals from organizations that would benefit their county agriculture programs. This Leadership Conference was a great opportunity for our senior officers to look at what they accomplished in their last four years of being an officer and correspond with other FFA members and see how they dealt with agricultural topics that would affect their personal lives.
