Greene County FFA members attend national convention

FFA Members also had the opportunity to tour the Fastenal warehouse in Indianapolis. The warehouse they visited picks over one million orders each day. Students got to tour all parts of the facility and learn about career opportunities with this company.
Greene County FFA members had the opportunity to listen to speakers, witness award ceremonies, and participate in a career/college fair during their trip to National Convention.

XENIA — Forty members of the Greene County FFA Chapter’s attended the 92nd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana last October. They joined more than 65,000 members, advisors, parents, and guests from across the country that gathered to honor America’s agriculture youth. Advisors Dr. Kelly Rickabaugh, Doug Wickline, Willie Hawkins, Jessamyn Rice and Katrina Swinehart departed by charter bus from the Greene County Career Center with the group of students Wednesday of the convention.

Throughout the four-day celebration FFA member’s experienced dynamic speakers, attended the National Agriculture Career Show, with over 500 exhibits from major agricultural companies and colleges; toured local agricultural businesses, such as, Umbarger Show Feed, ET Sprayers, and Fastenal. They also attended the Ohio FFA social event, The Buckeye Bash, where students were able to network with members from around the state. The students also attended the Convention Concert of Chris Young and Cole Swindell.

As the convention began to come to a conclusion, Saturday morning FFA members from across the county received the highest honor the organization can bestow upon a member, the American Degree. Locally, Cole Hiser and Ben Harner received this top honor.
